“Their voice matters” – First Give at Ark Elvin Academy
This year, Ark Elvin Academy’s First Give Final left us feeling inspired by the presenting students who reflected the diverse population within Brent. The exemplary Final had external judges that were inspired by the students’ social action projects and presentations. It was clear that the First Give programme supported the students in developing new skills such as presenting with confidence, and speaking out on matters that are important to them. We look forward to continuing our long-lasting partnership with Ark Elvin Academy and can’t wait to see what the students come up with next year. Student Success Story
Stand out social action from 2022/2023!
First Give is a social action programme which runs in secondary schools throughout England and Wales. Students across a year group will choose a local charity to support, carry out social action in support of that charity and then create presentations to detail the work of their charity and the social action they carried out, ultimately competing to win a £1000 grant for their chosen charity. Read about some of the amazing social action taken by students in the past academic year below!

First Give inspires young leaders at John F Kennedy Catholic School
John F Kennedy School ran First Give for the first time and had an exceptionally successful programme! The students were fully engaged in social action, and the teachers saw real improvement in the behaviors of students that usually had struggled with school engagement. Additionally, their Final had a wonderful judging panel and attendance of charity representatives in the audience. We are looking forward to a longstanding partnership with JFK and can’t wait to see what the students come up with next year!

Over £16k raised at The Funding Network’s Spring Connector!
First Give pitched to receive new funding for our First Give Primary pilot programme at The Funding Networks Spring Connectors event. Our Deputy Director Isaac’s presentation to the generous members of The Funding Network managed to raise just over £16k! We are excited to start expanding our work in primary schools across England and Wales for creating a ‘giving journey’.
